Community Murals

I’ve been working with Mural Arts Philadelphia since 2017, when I participated in their Summer Internship, working with Eric Okdeh.

This experience launched me into the world of public art, painting murals directly on walls as well as onto sheets of PolyTab, which creates pathways to community involvement in the process.

In 2018 I designed my first mini mural for West Mill Creek Playground, organizing and leading a community paint day that coincided with a neighborhood park cleanup.

I’ve also trained in the art of glass mosaic with Eric, and later with his mentor Josh Sarantitis. I first learned on Eric’s mural Almost Home, designed with Alvin Tull, which was fabricated and installed in a whirlwind three weeks in 2018.

Since that first summer, I’ve worked with dozens of lead and assistant artists creating and restoring murals around Philadelphia.

These projects continue to inspire my belief in the power of community, collaboration, and creative expression.
